From peering through a handheld microscope in childhood forests to tracking solar storms with a homemade viewing box, Bonnie Truax’s curiosity about the natural world began early. Her summers were filled with backyard discoveries, moonlit telescope sessions, and a budding fascination with how the universe works. That scientific wonder deepened with time.

Her passion for understanding the human mind led her to earn a university degree in counseling. But life, ever unpredictable, steered her toward a different path: IT finance. In that field, she quickly rose through the ranks, known for her intuitive grasp of systems and patterns. Her ability to spot inefficiencies and optimize processes eventually earned her a director role at a Fortune 50 company.
Yet the rhythms of spreadsheets and boardrooms couldn’t quiet her deeper call to explore, connect, and witness the world beyond four walls.
Bonnie and her husband, Trin, retired from the corporate world to pursue a life of discovery. They chose an unconventional path that slowly explored one continent at a time. It all started with a one one-way flight to Costa Rica and one backpack each. Their nomadic journey has taken them through the Americas, Australia, Antarctica, Africa, Asia, and Europe. In each place, they seek out the earth’s wisdom learning from forest ecosystems, dramatic geological formations, shifting weather patterns, and the diverse cultures of the people they meet.
Today, Bonnie is an author, explorer, and lifelong student of the patterns that shape our world. Her debut book, The Rhythm of Everything: A Journey Through Nature, Science, and Faith, is a reflection of that lifelong pursuit.
She continues to travel, write, and live by the rhythms that connect us all.
